Golfers will enjoy the challenge of two local 18-hole courses, both of which were designed by Ronald Fream. The Gramacho course is a par-72 course, developed in partnership with former world number 1, Nick Price, and has played host to the Ladies European Tour several times. Meanwhile, the Vale da Pinta course has played host to the final qualifying stage to the European Senior Tour for several consecutive years. It mixes Bermuda fairway grass with beautiful white sand bunkers.
The town of Ferragudo sits on the southern coast of Portugal at the western border of Lagoa and next to the city of Portimao. The Fort of Sao Joao de Arade, built in the 16th & 17th centuries, still reminds people of its history of protecting the coast from attacks from pirates and privateers.
The white sands of the Praia Grande beach attract many locals and tourists alike.
